Tiles of War: Update #5

Hey, there Tile-tacticians!

We changed something and we are not sure if it is better or worse XD

In the past, you could only move 1 tile ahead of your captured territory... Not there are no restrictions! You can move through the whole map, no matter if it is your own territory or not.

We made this to speed up the gameplay and allow for more options when planning your turn. Here is a detailed list of all the changes we made for version 0.0.5, enjoy and please let us know if you enjoy this fast-paced approach more than before!

Major Change:

  • Movement is no longer restricted by captured territories. Units can now move to any tile, even if it is not connected by captured territories. This change significantly increases the pace of gameplay, allowing for more dynamic and strategic movement.

New Game Mode:

  • Added a toggle for turning on Constrained Expansion. This is the old game mode where movement is limited to territories connected to your own. If you prefer the slower mode, this is the way to switch it on.

UI Enhancements:

  • Added unit descriptions and titles in the hover popup. This improvement enhances the understanding of unit abilities and roles, providing valuable information for tactical decision-making.
  • Implemented a dynamic tooltip system, which now displays tooltips for a variety of buttons. This feature ensures clarity and ease of use, allowing players to quickly understand the functions and interactions of various elements within the game.

Undead Unit Abilities:

  • Introduced the concept of Undead unit abilities. While not yet implemented, players can now see the titles and descriptions of these abilities, offering a glimpse into the exciting features that will be added in the future.

Social Media Integration:

  • Added social media links to the title screen, making it easier for players to connect with our community and stay updated on the latest news and developments.

Let us know what you think of these new, fast-paced battles!
Yours, Dimitri_OS
