Tiles of War: Update #6 (Battle animations!)


Hey, there Tile-tacticians!

We're back with an exciting update for you in version 0.0.6. We've been working hard to bring some awesome changes and additions that will take your gameplay experience to the next level. Let's jump right into it!

First, we added battle animations, which were definitely not a pain to make -_-. Reddit helped here a lot with awesome feedback to make the animations more fluid/enjoyable to watch. In case you don't want to see them anymore, there is a setting in the settings panel to disable them, just saying XD.


Oh, and forests in Fog of War are now hidden unless you stand exactly next to them! 


Here is the full changelog if you want to know all of the changes we made since version 0.0.5:

Visual Enhancements:

  • Improved tiles for forest and mountain.
  • Units now face the direction that players are facing, determining their orientation at the start of the game.
  • Implemented battle animations to showcase the battles between units.

Gameplay Improvements:

  • Fog of War Enhancement: Forests are now covered by fog of war, except when specific conditions are met.
  • Reduced the initial map size from 13x13 to 10x10, providing a more compact and focused gameplay experience.

User Interface (UI) Enhancements:

  • Made the settings panel scrollable for improved usability.
  • Added a new toggle to disable battle animations.
  • Hopefully fixed bug preventing the end-turn button from being pressed.

Localization and Performance:

  • Improved translations for Polish and Japanese.
  • A lot of under-the-hood improvements for enhanced performance and functionality.
